So, this is probable going to ruin my surprise, but I was really eager to show you what kind of things I can work on, apart of drawing and writing This is a gift I've made for my dear friend ~Halina, who's made several dolls for me, and a beautiful fan-art of my Lilith I'm explaining how I made this frame, and you'll see I'm very enthusiastic about it xD I hope you'll enjoy reading!
Pout pourri- you see scented flowers to be put in a bowl, I see a FRAME!8D This is how I work: 1. First of all, I decide the colours. This is a small and cute white frame I've bought some time ago, it fits for 2,5x3,5". Little, lovely to make because it doesn't leave much space without flowers (if you fill it interely you would need too many flowers, and that would also make the frame too heavy aesthetically in my opinion, so I'm used to leave two corners without flowers) and easy to be sent I've found them in an art and painting shop, but you can find them in malls as well. The pout pourri can be found in malls and shops with articles for the house- it's usually used in bowls and such so thatthey can spread their scent in the room, but let's be creative <3 I've chosen a blue-light blue shade for the pout-pourri, because I know this colour would fit well to her room I also have other colours: red, orange, green, purple. You can find different colours and different objects especially! You can find leaves, flowers, fruit...it's very fun looking at them and choosing them x3 2. I choose the main themes and details of the frame. As I wrote above, you can choose a couple of pieces of fruit, a certain flower, or little branches- they're the stars here! the rest is a decoration to fill the frame. 3. I start putting down the lower decorations. Consider you'll probably have to work with many layers, and be very patient. I usually use Vinyl glue, or in extreme cases, the Attack glue xD 4. The best thing about pout pourry it that some pieces are broken, and also are easy to be broken. Experiment, break every single part and use them in different ways! Like, I broke up a dry panicle once, it became a pile of orange grains- and it looked very cool! I took those light blue softy looking things and broke them in many pieces here. 5. I added a violet string-like accessory and some other details in the lower corner here, and while waiting for them to dry, I started making the upper corner. 6. The upper corner goes further! I'm still deciding the main decoration here. I've added an another string in the upper corner. 7. And I've decided it! This flower-like thing looks good. 8. Added the main decoration in the lower corner! Note the blue pieces of pout pourri on the purple string- they sort of remind the wood while touching them, and they usually are rolled up like a cone. BEFORE I BREAK THEM TO PIECES mwahahaha xD 9. Added an another flower and an another string in the upper corner, a sort of leaf above the softy decorations because they looked too bright, and some other pieces of wood-like pout pourri. The upper corner is FINISHED! 10. Added a little spiky cone in the lower corner and fixed some decorations. The lower corner is FINISHED!
AND IT'S DONE! Time taken: about 3 hours of work, plus some more time to make the glue dry.
I hope you enjoyed looking and reading This frame will be sent tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and will soon arrive in its new house I hope you'll like it, Hanna It's probably very different from what you've expected, but I wanted to make something special for you- and this is something I still haven't shown anyone in the web, something I love and have a lot of fun with This is all!
Please check out some of the wonderful works ~Halina makes!
I would suggest adding some embellishment to the wooden frame, though, to give it even more oomph seeing the bare space makes me want to go at it with silver paint or something
Haha i dont have any free time between 2 jobs, D&D sundays and working on my digital stuff on my free evenings. It's taking me a week to finish one peice right now ><
Lol that's what heppens when you're living on your owna nd trying to save up to travel all at the same time as trying to get a bunch of recent art peices done to get your name out ther a little better and have a bit of a gallery/partfolio that isn't just 5 sketchy peices and one finished. lol.
You're very determined and mature, and I truly like it In case you'd link to find some jobs related to art, I've been told check out Elance- it's a big site with both job offers and services. I'm not sure you'd have time enough to check it out and try it out, but it'd be a good chance to get people to know your work, and maybe finding a job related to drawing I see you're putting a lot of effort in what you do, and I really admire your strenght!

And really?8D I'm used to leave it bare because I like its raw appareance, but I should consider painting over the frames, as well *w*
It must be really tiring though!
and any time i DO get off is spent catching up on sleep. >< lol
